I defy anyone from having a more bizarre experience than Jon and I did today.
I kept a good distance away made easier by my 100x digital zoom, made minimal movements beyond the index finger pushing down on the shutter and watched. The bird seemed unconcerned about my appearance.
Domestic rabbits live on average 7-11 or 8-12 years depending on the source of your information, the breed (larger rabbits have shorter lives), genetics, and lifestyle of the bunny. I always use the 8-12 year range to quote to people in the hope they’ll understand the long term promise they’ll be making when they say: “Yes, let’s take that one home.”

My colleague, Beth, used to be able to tell when I’d stayed out of the woods too long. She’d look at me and suggest I get my feet in gear. And yesterday I recognized the need myself and called down to my husband to accompany me.
