Miracles of Christmas 2011

Don’t want to say I’m God’s ‘favorite’, but after experiencing a string of miracles longer than any lights wrapped round my tree, it’s pretty clear I’m in the top quintile.

Season Scenes from our Christmas Card

I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. ~Charles Dickens

Words and Images by Ann Trainor Domingue

"The road ahead for fine artists who produce only one true original is a difficult one especially in this tight economy. Although giclee (zhee-clay) prints -- high quality inkjet prints -- are possible, they're still not a dimensional copy of the original." Ann Trainor Domingue

A Field of Dreamy Sculpture – The Intersection of Art & Nature

In New England, the perfect summer day is such a rare treat as to insist we take advantage of it whenever it deigns to visit. Like flowers ever facing the sun, in summer, I shift from my regular haunts to get my cultural fix based less on the type of art, and more on the venue’s proximity to the parts of nature that I love most.

Hey Art, Where for Art Thou? The Collaborative Effort to Put Massachusetts on the Art Map

Boston isn’t known as a mecca for buyers in the art world; on the contrary, I hear more and more how buyers go straight to New York for art and forgo the fine galleries right here in their own city. This leaves most of the galleries in Boston high and dry as far as making a living is concerned. This is a gosh-darned shame considering the quality and dedication of the city’s artists.
